NR10 – Class on Saturdays – duration 40 hours

Safety in the electrical power system (SEP) and its surroundings. – Class Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:40 pm to 10:40 pm – duration 40 hours

Target audience: Electrical professionals who work close to high voltage installations (>1000V).

Prerequisite: To attend this complementary course, it is a prerequisite to have participated, with satisfactory success, in the previously defined basic course.

Program Content:

  1. Organization of the Electrical Power System – SEP.
  2.  Organization of work:
    a) programming and planning of services;
    b) teamwork;
    c) records and registration of facilities;
    d) work methods; and
    e) communication.
  3. Behavioral aspects.
  4. Impairing conditions for services.
  5. Typical risks in SEP and their prevention:
    a) proximity and contacts with energized parts;
    b) induction;
    c) atmospheric discharges;
    d) static;
    e) electric and magnetic fields;
    f) communication and identification; and
    g) work at height, machinery and special equipment.
  6. Risk analysis techniques in S E P
  7. Work procedures – analysis and discussion.
  8. Tension working techniques:
    a) live line;
    b) potential;
    c) in internal areas;
    d) distance work;
    e) night work; and
    f) underground environments.
  9. Work equipment and tools (choice, use, conservation, verification, testing).
  10. Collective protection systems.
  11. Personal protective equipment.
  12. Work postures and clothing.
  13. Safety with vehicles and transport of people, materials and equipment.
  14. Signage and isolation of work areas.
  15. Release of installation for service and for operation and use.
  16. Training in removal techniques, care and transport of victims.
  17. Typical accidents – Analysis, discussion, protective measures.
  18. Responsibilities.
